Story:
This pate de verre Vesica lamp is part of the series ”Spring Blooms Are Made In Winter”.
This collection is developed through a combination of pâte de verre casting and traditional glass slumping techniques.
The material used is different fractions of glass frit melted at different temperatures to achieve the desired textures and transparencies.
All the pieces are fully handmade and result in unique variations.
The forms are as distilled as possible in order to let the broken glass be the dominant character/expression.
The driving force behind the collection was the capacity of broken fragments to form new constellations, not from restoring a whole but from establishing new relationships between parts;
Where rupture becomes the condition for new identities rather than a loss to be repaired.
