We make our earrings and brooches to order. You can modify the changeable components in different configurations. They can be customized with a body of 18k solid Gold or solid 925 Sterling Silver cones and matching precious metal upper ball or a variety of pearls. Additionally, we can craft our jewelry in 999 Fine Silver upon request.
The Pearls
Cultured pearls come in several main varieties: Akoya, Tahitian, Freshwater, Saltwater, White and Golden South Seas, and Sea of Cortez pearls. Each type of pearl has unique characteristics, bringing their own distinct character.
Saltwater and freshwater pearls differ mainly in their implantation process. In saltwater oysters, pearl farmers implant the tissue and bead into the gonad of the mollusk, and then the mollusk forms a whole saltwater pearl around the nucleus. In freshwater mussels, they implant small pieces of tissue into the mantle of the mollusk. Culturing saltwater pearls usually results in the production of only one pearl per oyster.
Pearl Jewelry Care and Maintenance
Pearls are mainly made up of layers of Nacre (or Mother of Pearl). Therefore if they are in regular contact with other hard surfaces, this can damage them over time. We advise to store pearls separately from other jewelry.
